Black Pig of the Nebrodi

A Sicilian excellence between tradition, nature and taste

In the wild heart of the Nebrodi mountains, where Sicily shows its most authentic face, one of the most prized pig breeds in the Mediterranean is born and raised: the Black Pig of the Nebrodi.

Origins and territory

A native Sicilian breed, the Nebrodi Black Pig is distinguished by its dark coat, compact physique, and rusticity. Bred for centuries according to ancient traditions, it lives in freedom or semi-freedom in the woods and pastures of the Nebrodi Park, where it feeds on what nature offers: acorns, roots, chestnuts, berries and wild herbs.

Natural nutrition, unique taste

The natural diet, combined with outdoor life, gives the meat a unmistakable flavor, rich in aromas, with a marbling fine and a perfect balance between lean and fat. It is a highly digestible meat and rich in good fats, such as oleic acid, similar to that of extra virgin olive oil.
